Kahal Kadosh She'erit Yisrael
קהל קדוש שארית ישראל
An Orthodox Jewish community in Putti, Uganda.
This is where we share who we are, how our children learn, and how friends abroad can stand with us.
Our community
She'erit Yisrael means “the remnant of Israel.” Our congregation keeps Shabbat, the festivals, and the mitzvot according to halacha, and gathers in Putti for tefillah and Torah learning.
Draft: Enosh to write the community's story in his own words: how the community began, its path to Orthodox practice, and daily life today.
The Jonathan Netanyahu Memorial Primary School
The school carries the name of Yoni Netanyahu, who fell leading the rescue at Entebbe in 1976. Today it is where Putti's children learn to read, write, and daven.
Draft: number of students and grades, teachers, what a typical day includes, and the school's most pressing needs (fees, books, meals, building).
Ask how to helpA kippah from Putti with every gift
Our kippot are crocheted by hand in Putti. For every $50 you give to the school, we'll send you one as a thank-you: $100 brings two, $150 brings three, and so on.
Kippot ship from the United States. Ordering for a bar mitzvah, a wedding, or a school? Write to us about larger quantities.
Draft: who makes the kippot, whether donors choose colors or we choose, and where we ship.

We welcome ties with Jewish day schools, yeshivot, and congregations: students writing to one another, classes learning together over video, and communities building friendships that last.
